I was on my way down to Bangor to buy some necesarry protection for fencing (read: a cup,so as not to get my stuff stabbed), and I was thinking to myself how wasteful it is to drive. I had asked most of the people I knew if there was somewhere within waling or biking distance that I could have gone to get sportsware, but to no avail. In any case, I still felt guilty for driving the 10 minutes down there (and 10 back! /gasp). So I decided to get my consumerist fix, and buy stuff for myself. Lucky for me, Dick's is an anchor store for the Mall. So I got a NERV shirt off the discount rack at Hot Topic ($8, woohoo!), since Eva's on Adult Swim and it has me feeling nostalgic. I got a couple of books at Borders: The Path of Daggers, book eight in Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series, and The Elements of Ritual, a cool metaphysical/pagan book I had seen a long time ago, but hadn't been able to find for at least a year (nor could I remember the title to look it up). Then the big item- Soul Calibur III with the soundtrack and artbook/strategy guide. It's really cool so far; I wonder why it's PS2 exclusive, too. I just always feel nervous about spending more than $50 at one time. Well that should be the sum total of my nonesential purchases (at least for myself) for the next 2 months, give or take.
Gotta get up bright and early tomorrow to try to authorize for fencing, so it's off to bed for me.
